I really do like this one.... I take it that it's a 2-D render yet has wonderful 3-d feel to it! Looks almost like something you'd create with Max or C4d.

I'm not a fan of 3d fractals as such but I do love 3d and maniukating 2d to look at times as if it were 3d....

Thank you for the sweet comment. My 2 favorite tools are Apophysis and the Gimp. I think with this one though some xtra oscilloscope is how I got this effect. To be honest I was shocked to see anyone liked it. :giggle:

huh!!!!! Yeah - I was using the gimp for a while on tiger but ran into problems when I upgraded to Leopard and have not checked to see if there is a compatible version yet.... Mostly used it to generate textures and to check out its fractal pug-ins :)
Gotta have Lots of patience for Apophysis..... I mostly leave it alone until I am so bored I don't care anymore or am sick (I don't mean that in any derogatory way against Apo though. Just when I have my usual impatient wits about me (Creative Flow....) I cannot handle the endless rendering times of apo nor all the knob twiddling. Much prefer to be UF' ing where you have a far greater control on what you are doing and much better visual feedback to aid you. Not to mention amazing gradient choices.....

I do appreciate good Apo stuff though preferably non-scripted stuff.... Though there are some great scripts around! :)

I'm not sure as far as compatibility issues with the Gimp, for I use the windows version, but I'm sure if there isn't one now there will be.:sherlock: I have never used UF but have heard some good things about it and have seen some very beautiful work done with it. When I get bored I switch between all my favorite art programs.:giggle: I like using scripts (there are some awesome ones for Apop) if I'm in a hurry to make something that won't take long and still look nice, but much prefer to start with a blank and move the triangles around until I get a design I like then I start messing with numbers in variations. :giggle:
